Short answer: This is a rimfire system. TECHNICALLY it's rimfire rifle rated, but not "rifle" rifle rated.
It’s built specifically for .22LR and 22 short. That’s where it performs best, and that’s where it’s meant to live. It is NOT meant for 22 Magnum or 17HMR. Those rounds WILL damage the plate and cause a safety concern.
(If you ignore that advice and do something you shouldn’t, you’ll find the limits real quick. Center fire cartridges WILL damage this system.)
