The V-FLEX 3 Hole Strap is a self-healing rubber mounting strap cut from the same ballistic rubber used in our MOD1 Bullet Trap and V-FLEX Self-Healing Targets. Built to mount gongs to your Easy Rack or Deluxe System, the 3 Hole Strap uses a single mounting hole on the gong, letting it pivot on impact. It gives you immediate visual feedback on where your rounds are actually landing.

Cut From the Same Rubber We Trust in Our Traps

The V-FLEX 3 Hole Strap is cut from the same advanced ballistic rubber we use in our MOD1 Bullet Trap, Titan Trap, and V-FLEX Target. It's a thinner, higher-quality compound that resists tearing under repeated impact, so your gong stays mounted through session after session.

Why Rubber Instead of a Metal Hooks

Metal hooks bend. They break. And when they fail under repeated impact, they can send fragmentation back toward the shooter. A rubber strap doesn't carry that risk the same way. If it does eventually fail, it fails without being a liability. Rubber straps are also far cheaper to replace than metal hooks, so the ongoing cost of keeping your gongs mounted stays low.

Built to Pivot, On Purpose

The 3 Hole Strap uses a single mounting hole on the gong rather than two. That single point of contact lets the gong swing freely on impact instead of holding rigid. For precision shooting drills, that pivot is exactly the point. The shooter gets instant, visible feedback on where your rounds are actually hitting, without walking downrange to check.

Ammunition Guidance

The Vulcan-X Strap is cut from the same self-healing rubber as our V-FLEX Self-Healing Targets, and it's rated for the same ammunition types.

Do NOT use the following on or near the strap:

  • Hollow points
  • Flat-nose rounds
  • Slugs
  • Explosive rounds
  • Incendiary rounds
  • Wads

Running prohibited ammunition through the strap causes damage the material can't recover from, shortening its life.

The 3 Hole Strap uses a single mounting hole on the gong, so it pivots freely on impact which is useful for seeing where precision rounds are landing. The 2 Hole Strap runs through both holes of the gong for a fixed, non-pivoting hang. The 3 Hole Strap is also wider and slightly heavier. 

The swing gives you instant visual feedback on shot placement. For precision, watching how the gong moves after impact tells you where your rounds are actually landing without walking downrange to check.

Metal hooks bend and break under repeated impact, and when they fail, they can send fragmentation back toward the shooter. Rubber straps do not carry that risk, and cost far less to replace over time — making them the safer and cheaper choice for mounting your gongs.
