The Gamut Backpack is incredibly Capable. 

When maximum organization of more gear is most important, the Vertx Gamut Back Pack shines bright. For folks looking to carry larger folded rifles, this bag comes in clutch. We have had much success fitting rifles up to 10.5″ Barrel lengths inside the gamut. Bear in mind: Muzzle device, stock type, and folding mechanism will affect the ability to fit various lengths of rifles. The Coolest part: This is so much more than an EDC Bag or Rifle Bag. This bag blends the worlds between a heavier load out pack and a typical everyday carry bag. 

What Makes the Gamut Backpack So Capable for everyday carry?

  • The Main Compartment is spacious with ample pockets, separators, and even loop for velcro or TactiGami Accessories.
  • Main Compartment opens 180 degrees for easier loading and unloading of gear. 
  • The Front Most Pocket features a quick deploy design and it is packed with MOLLE and Loop for accessories, medical, or even office supplies. 
  • There is a third compartment (closest to your body) that is perfect for smaller handguns or other critically important gear. The pocket being against your body makes it harder to access by unwanted individuals when it is on body. 
  • The Gamut also features side pockets for smaller gear or even a water bottle.

  • Hydration Pass Through Ports are towards the top of the bag near the straps

When do we choose the Gamut Backpack?

The Gamut Backpack is our go-to anytime we are looking to carry larger rifles covertly. Most rifles up to 10.5" barrel lengths will fit nicely in this bag. Additionally, larger armor panels can fit in the Gamut VS other bags (like the Transit Sling, EDC Ready Pack, or Commuter Sling). Placement of Magazines and a large amount of medical gear can be accomplished with ease. Further, this bag is perfect for a home-to-office commuter bag. Even if you are only carrying a concealed pistol, this bag is extremely well laid out and very comfortable. Space and organization is plenty. So when we need a bag that can handle larger daily load outs, we turn to the Gamut Backpack.

Frequently Asked Questions:

We have tested the gamut bags with our 5" & 7.5" 300 Blackout AR15's. Additiaonally, our 10.3" and 10.5" AR15's fit with ease. Even less common platforms, like our 8.6" Galil's fit with ease. 10.3" Rifles with extremely long muzzle devices may not fit. Our rifles have SilencerCo ASR Flash Hiders. 

The Armor Compartment is approximately 11" X 17". The Premier Body Armor BPP-9151.1 Panel will fit perfectly into this backpack. 

Even if you are not carrying a larger compact rifle, the Gamut Backpack may be perfect for you. The dual straps add comfort for heavier loads. Additionally, this bag is perfect for office settings where you find yourself carrying lots of gear back and forth to work. Laptops, cables, chargers, medical gear, and so much more can fit into this bag easily. Additionally, we often use our Gamut Bags for carry on luggage. It's perfect for a "day pack" and can easily pack a change of clothes along with snacks, water, and other necessities. 

In certain situations a larger bag may not be appropriate. Certain venues, dinner locations, and public locations may not suit a larger bag. This depends entirely on your environment. For locations where a more discreet bag is necessary, we often turn to the Transit Sling, Commuter Sling, or EDC Ready Pack. 

There are plenty of quality bags on the market. There are also many…not so great options. We bought our first Vertx bags back around 2015/2016. We have been a customer of Vertx for years and we have used nearly all of their backpacks, slings, and packs in our personal lives. Our team quite literally carries Vertx bags on us every single day. There is a reason: They are extremely well built, they are laid out well, they can take immense abuse, and the don’t look tactical. The last thing we want is to have bags that look tactical or are laid out poorly. The Vertx bags in general are well built, well thought out packs.

We have partnered with Vertx to offer these bags to you. Once you place your order, we notify Vertx. The bags are then immediately shipped from the Vertx Warehouse. We do not currently hold physical Vertx inventory in our warehouse. 

For heavier / larger EDC Load outs a two strap bag will be more comfortable. The weight will be distributed better with the dual straps. Additionally, you'll experience less fatigue when rocking a dual strap concealed carry bag / pack. Smaller load outs are often perfect for sling bags. Additionally, a single sling bag is often faster to deploy a concealed firearm. This is because the bag can stay on body during the draw. Further, a single sling bag when deployed often can act as a "plate carrier" of sorts, positioning the armor panel over your chest and vital organs.
