TA Targets Warranty

Overview

TA Targets delivers high-quality steel target systems for high-volume shooting. Our Exodus (AR550 Steel) and Genesis (AR500 Steel) product lines are backed by the following warranties.

Exodus Systems (AR550 Steel)

Warranty Coverage


• 1/2” AR550 Strike Plates (Targets):

  • Limited Lifetime Warranty
  • Covers cracks or bullet pass-through under proper use.
  • One replacement, original purchaser only.

• 3/8” AR550 Strike Plates (Targets):

  • 10-Year Warranty: Mini A-DAP (reduced C Zone) and C Zone A-DAP systems.
  • 3-Year Warranty: Other 3/8” AR550 strike plates (e.g., Vital Zone, Mini VitalZone, paddles).
  • Covers cracks or bullet pass-through under proper use.
  • One replacement, original purchaser only.

• Welded Components (Excluding Strike Plates):

  • Limited lifetime Guarantee of all welded components
  • Covers weld failure affecting function.
  • To qualify, the weld must have broken fully, resulting in a system that no longer functions as intended from factory.
  • One replacement, original purchaser only.

• Gong Targets & Stands:

  • No warranty beyond arrival in new, functional condition.
  • Replaceable at customer cost if damaged.

AR550 Paddles:

  • 3-Year Warranty
  • Covers cracks or bullet pass-through under proper use.
  • One replacement, original purchaser only.


Exclusions

• Improper ammunition (e.g., armor-piercing, steel-core, >3,000 FPS).

  • See note about distance intervals for ammunition OVER 3,000FPS

• Shooting at improper distances.

  • ALWAYS follow our distance requirements, NEVER engage targets closer than directed via our target stickers AND our user manuals.
  • Our user manuals take PRECEDENT over our stickers in cases of discrepancies.

• Normal wear and tear (e.g., dimples ≤3/16” diameter, ≤1/16” deep; edge chips ≤3/16”; plate curving ≤1/8”).• Hardware, wood posts, bases, mounts, chipped paint, cosmetic damage, theft, loss, misuse.

Proper Use Guidelines

• Pistol Ammunition (≤1,500 FPS, lead or copper-jacketed/lead core): Minimum 10 yards.

• Rifle Ammunition (>1,500 FPS, ≤3,000 FPS, bi-metal jacket acceptable):

  • 3/8” AR550: 50 yards (.223/5.56 NATO, 7.62x39, .308 Winchester); 100 yards (magnum calibers).
  • 1/2” AR550: 30 yards (.223/5.56 NATO, 7.62x39); 50 yards (.308); 100 yards (magnum calibers).

• Velocities >3,000 FPS: Increase distances by 25 yards for EVERY 100 FPS your ammunition is OVER 3,000 FPS (contact TA Targets for wildcat cartridges).

  • Example: A target rated for 50 yards with rifles and ammo at 3,000 FPS muzzlevelocity or LESS.
    • Ammunition that is 3400 FPS
    • User MUST increase the distance by 100 yards to accommodate faster ammunition.
    • User MUST put ONE test round on plate
    • Inspect for damage
    • If no damage, continue at this proper distance
    • If slight damage occurs, increase distance by another 50 yards and repeat.

• Never use armor-piercing, steel-core, or >3,000 FPS ammunition.

Filing a Warranty Claim

1. Eligibility: Original purchaser only (second-hand products ineligible).

2. Deadline:

  • 1-Year Warranty: Within 365 days from purchase.
  • 3-Year/2-Year/Lifetime: No deadline (Lifetime for 1/2” AR550 only).

3. Process:

  • Email photos of damage, ammunition, firearm to info@tatargets.com (subject:“Warranty Claim”).
  • Include order number, failure description.
  • Response within 7 business days.
  • If approved, ship damaged component to: TA Targets, 424 West Penn Avenue, Womelsdorf, PA 19567, United States.
  • Inspection within 7 days; replacement shipped within 14 days if approved.

4. Notes:

  • One replacement per product/component.
  • No cash refunds.
  • Record heat/lot numbers (A-DAP/VTAR angles) for tracking.

Preventative Maintenance & Wear

Normal Wear and Tear

• Dimples (≤3/16” diameter, ≤1/16” deep), edge chips (≤3/16”), plate curving (≤1/8”).

• Minimized by proper ammunition, distances, maintenance.

Maintenance Tips

• Inspect targets each session; replace damaged/unsafe components.

• Rotate A-DAP/VTAR plates every 3,000 rounds or 6 months.

  • Sooner for higher volume ranges

• Replace hardware as needed (not covered).

• Avoid shooting bases or posts.
