AR550 Steel Targets

Our AR550 steel represents years of meticulous supplier selection, resulting in a product of unparalleled quality. Extensively tested against armor-piercing ammunition—though not officially rated for it—our AR550 steel has consistently defeated every round challenged, showcasing its superior hardness and purity. This exceptional steel produces a distinctive, loud ring upon impact, providing clear audible feedback that significantly enhances the training experience for shooters of all levels.

Our Genesis (AR500) plates are built for dependable moderate-volume use, but a crater depth of 3/16 of an inch signals it’s time to replace them to ensure safety. Choose our Exodus (AR550) plates for unmatched durability—rigorously tested to resist pitting even under extreme conditions. Customers have trusted Exodus plates for nearly a decade of high-volume shooting, only recently flipping them to use the reverse side, extending their life further.

If you notice a curve or warping exceeding 3/16 of an inch, simply flip your Exodus (AR550) plate. It is recommended to flip the target plate every few years to maintain peak performance and safety. Flipping is not recommended for Genesis (AR500) plates due to their design. Invest in our Exodus plates for a superior, long-lasting training experience.
