This bracket is a mounting solution to attach various AR500 Steel Gong Targets to a 2X4 post. This single bracket creates a durable yet simple solution for folks looking to shoot steel targets. Additionally, the simple construction and manufacturing processes we use keep this product very inexpensive. Lower cost steel targets allow our customers to fill their ranges out for more focused training. The Grey Beige Powder Coated finish ensures lasting performance and corrosion and rust resistance. Train in any conditions.

This simple bracket is comprised of the following components:
  • (One) Breakdown Base Tube
  • (One) Bent bracket with hole to mount gong
  • (One) 1/2″ X 2.5″ Grade 8 Carriage bolt (yellow zinc finish)
  • (One) Custom Compression Spring
  • (One) locking nut to secure the gong to the bracket
  • (One) Breakdown Base Tool for disassembly or assembly

This bracket often ships separately in its own box. Some assembly is required before shooting on your range.

Single Hole Gong Mount

The Single Hole Gong Mount is a mount that allows attachment of any of our Genesis Steel Targets to a 2X4 post. These components make up the Single Hole Gong Hanger:

  • (One) Breakdown Base Tube
  • (One) Bent bracket with hole to mount gong
  • (One) 1/2″ X 2.5″ Grade 8 Carriage bolt (yellow zinc finish)
  • (One) Custom Compression Spring
  • (One) locking nut to secure the gong to the bracket
  • (One) Breakdown Base Tool for disassembly or assembly

Utilizing a single mounting surface and point creates a simpler, more streamlined system for production and training. This bracket allows shooters to invest in more steel targets to create a vast array of training drills. Although they are less expensive than our Exodus line of steel targets, the Genesis Steel Targets are purpose built for serious use. If used properly this single hole mount will last your lifetime. The yellow zinc grade 8 bolt and plated spring and nut ensure your system stays rust free for many years to come.

We bend every bracket to perfection using a CNC Press Brake. Installation of the components and parts takes seconds. You will appreciate the use of the standard Breakdown base tube for 2X4 posts. Additionally, we tap 3/8″-16 holes to accommodate thumb screws. You will be in action in seconds without tools. The spring and bolt assembly allows for some swing movement of the plate and the spring keeps the movement consistent.

Powder coating the brackets keeps the end product clean and free of dirt or rust. Nobody wants to unpack a new target system only to see nasty rust and grime. Powder coating the bracket ensures resistance to weather and corrosion. You don’t have to fear premature wear and tear due to rust and corrosion. Each part is Laser cut to perfection and then CNC press brake fit.

In the event that your bracket experiences a stray round or damage simply purchase replacement components. The 2X4 tube can easily be replaced with basic hand tools (or the included breakdown base tool).

Anyone looking to just get into their first target system should consider this single hole bracket for their target plates. This mount gives a secure, stable, and consistent mounting method that ensures safety and performance.

No! Only the Genesis Steel Target Plates are compatible with this bracket. A-DAP target plates WILL NOT function with this bracket!

You will need at least an open end wrench. Additionally, you can use  a 3/4″ Socket for the 1/2″ Carriage bolt and a 7/16″ Socket for the 3/8″ carriage bolts.

Yes! The Single Hole Gong Mount will ensure your gongs have ample forward lean. Additionally, the single hole and spring combination will ensure energy is deflected downward towards the ground.

Please read the entire Genesis User Manual to understand the distance limitations of these plates/systems. Generally speaking Genesis steel targets can be engaged as close as 10 yards with pistols. With rifles UNDER 3,000 FPS muzzle, they can be used at 100 yards. Again, please FULLY read your user manual PRIOR to using any Genesis Steel Targets.

All our steel targets are manufactured right here in Pennsylvania. Since the beginning we have been manufacturing our products right here to exacting standards. No Chinese steel, no questionable processes or procedures. Only the best for your range and training.

No. The “armor” we use for the strike plates (actual target impact plates) is made from a proprietary material that is manufactured in Sweden. this is the best material we have found in the world. We were largely dissatisfied with the QC of American made strike plates and had too many issues with quality control. Eventually we hope a US manufacturer creates a material that is as available and as stringent as our Swedish plate. For now, this is the best material to service our customers. US Manufactured AR500 and AR550 is used in areas that are NOT main strike plates. Some examples of this are the Rifle Dueling Tree Shields, Plate Rack Shields, Arachnid front shield and hostage brackets.

We source all other raw materials like our mild steel and AR500 steel from domestic mills. SOME hardware will unfortunately come from overseas as there are no US counterparts available at this time. We do NOT use Chinese mild steel or AR500 steel in any circumstances in any of our systems.

Maybe. Just in case, be sure not to eat the paint or lick the target before or after you’ve shot it. If you are just curious, led tastes horrible and will probably cause mental damage. If you have done it once you are likely to do it again.
