If you are looking for a challenging and exciting target to push your pistol shooting skills, look no further. The Point 1 Micro Popper target is a collaboration with Donovan from Point 1 Tactics. We designed this target specifically for pistol fundamental training. The 4X6 paddle forces accountability. Point 1 Micro Popper Target (Upper Assembly)

The Point 1 Micro Popper Target is a collaboration with our close friend Donovan from Point 1 Tactics. We teamed up with Donovan to create a Micro Popper target that is purpose built for serious pistol training. Make no mistake: This target will push your skillset and resolve. We likely do not need to say this, but this system is meant for those who desire to train to that top 1% level. Note: This is the upper assembly of the Micro Popper Target. Small Target Forces Accountability

The Point 1 Micro Popper Target is all about focusing in on those pistol fundamentals. Shooting this target at distance is extremely humbling and requires you to do your part. This target helps to built focus, to call shots, and to work through pressure while training. Additionally, the auto reset function adds fun to your range day. Most modern pistol calibers will fully knock down the paddle. The custom wound spring will then reset the paddle back into its static position, ready for the next string of fire.

Shot calling and skill building

Solid hits will result in a fast knock down and reset action. Poor hits may result in little to no movement. This means you are programming your mind to pay attention to the RESULTS of your bullet impacts, not just that you hit some arbitrary scoring zone. This builds confidence and skills quickly and reinforces the good habits you are building every range day. We chose a 4″X6″ paddle that indexes on the pivot mount for consistency and skill building. Quality Domestic (US) AR500 steel means the plate will withstand countless rounds and hours on the range.

The edges, bends, logo, and finish all reinforce the fact that this is an elegant, quality product meant for serious use. Further, you can be confident supporting a US company manufacturing our products right here in the great state of Pennsylvania. You might be wondering how we protect the 2X4 tube. We include an AR500 guard for each Popper target. This further aids in protecting your system and investment from lower impacts.

Point 1 Micro Popper Targets Include the Following:

This system is sold as a bracket, pivot, paddle, spring and hardware. This product alone does NOT include a base/target stand. You can shop those separately on our site, or shop the complete Micro Popper System. Compatible with our Genesis Base, Breakdown Base, and our Gen 3 20″ round base.  For your training we include the following:

  • (one) 4″X6″ Paddle made from 3/8″ AR500 Steel
  • (one) Pivot Bracket
  • (one) Pivot mount (this part bolts to our breakdown base tube)
  • (one) 2X4 Breakdown Base Tube (slides over the 2X4 Post)
  • (one) 1/2″ Carriage Bolt, Yellow Zinc Finish
  • (one) 1/2″ Locking Nut
  • (one) Custom wound torsion spring
  • (one) 1/2″ Clevis Pin and clip
  • (2) 3/8″ Carriage Bolts
  • (2) 3/8″ Locking Nuts
  • (2) Flat Washers
  • (3) 3/8″ x 1″ Grade 8 Hex Bolts for tightening to 2X4 post
    • (One) attaches the post guard to the tube
    • (2) are used on the tube (one side, one rear) to tighten to 2X4 Post
  • (One) 3/8″ X 2 1/4″ Grade 5 Hex Bolt for installing into the TOP of the bracket to put tension on the face of the 2X4 Post.
  • (one) AR500 Post Guard (To protect the tube from lower impacts)
  • Powder coated Grey Beige (Tan) for elegance and durability

Frequently Asked Questions:

Answer: There really is no wrong answer to this question. Any of our Steel Target bases will function with the Point 1 Micro Popper Target. If you are looking for the least expensive option, the Genesis Steel Target Base is the least expensive. Choose the 20″ Round Base or the breakdown base for maximum stability.

Answer: You should only use this system with our 4X6″ target plate that is cut to index on the pivot arm. While other gong plates MAY work, we do not recommend using them. In the future we plan to release other shapes and sizes. You MUST only use plates that are designated as for this system! With that out of the way, expect to see other shapes and sizes coming in the near future for this system.

Answer: This target plate is manufactured from Domestic (USA) AR500 steel. It is NOT the AR550 steel that we use on our A-DAP target systems.

Answer: A standard 2X4 works fine for the 2X4 tube. It will fit “looser” than previous bases. We oversized this tube slightly to assist in removal of boards in damp environments.

Maybe. Just in case, be sure not to eat the paint or lick the target before or after you’ve shot it. If you are just curious, led tastes horrible and will probably cause mental damage. If you have done it once you are likely to do it again.
