The Genesis Reduced C Zone Steel Target System is a C Zone (approximately 8″ wide x 16″ Tall) target system. The Genesis Targets are amazing because they offer our legendary quality with a more affordable option than the Exodus line of steel target systems.

TA Targets Was Founded To Build Up Defenders

We have been known for our high performance A-DAP Target systems since 2015. We created one of the (if not the) most durable target systems ever created. Incorporating every performance feature possible comes at a larger barrier to entry. In other words, it’s more expensive to manufacture and offer our A-DAP systems. Late 2023 we began working on a project we called Genesis. A starting point. The beginning. A Steel target family that allows YOU to get into quality targets and continue training with purpose.

Core DNA From Our Original Systems, Lower Price Point

Our team analyzed what made our A-DAP system so great, and we injected attributes of it into the Genesis system. We also analyzed and determined what most newer shooters and weekend warriors will not need. We settled on a material, mount, and base that keeps the cost aggressively low yet still offers a safe, durable, audible steel target system. The best part? We still manufacture these products right here in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Who Is The Genesis Steel Target System For?

The Genesis is for those of you who are just getting started. Your sidearm has your back every day, train with a system that pushes you to grow. Additionally, you can train on this system at 100+ yards with most rifle calibers. If you find yourself primarily shooting pistols and you shoot rifles at 100+ yards, this target system will save you a lot of money and keep your training moving forward. The reality was: Our A-DAP target system is overbuilt for many shooters. The Genesis contains just the right amount of DNA from the A-DAP system to maintain durability, loud audible feedback, and safety while training.

If you find yourself shooting high volume, or you want to train with rifles at close distances (like 30-50 yards), we recommend the A-DAP target system. It is more expensive, but it uses an exotic plate material that is AR550, and the system itself is designed and purpose built for close range training.

3/8″ AR500 Steel: Balanced Cost And Performance.

We landed on domestic 3/8″ AR500 steel for the Genesis Target Plates. This enables us to keep the point of entry as low as possible to allow as many people to train as possible. We know most of our customers are training with a higher amount of pistol rounds vs rifle rounds. For this reason, we kept the build specs of this system in line with that demand. You’re getting exactly what you need, no nonsense. A perfect balance for anyone looking to train more effectively.

Answer: Ammunition should be a lead core, copper jacket bullet. Muzzle velocity of rifles should NEVER exceed 3,000 FPS or damage may occur. Armor piercing ammunition, steel core, penetrator, or exotic machined solid bullets are NOT approved for use on the Genesis Gong Target Plates.

Answer: The Genesis Gongs work with our Deluxe Gong Hanger, Conduit Gong Hanger, Single Hole Gong Hanger, and our Tee Post Gong Hanger. The Genesis Target pages & product category will showcase all the acceptable options.

Answer: This target plate is manufactured from Domestic (USA) AR500 steel and is 3/8″ Thick. It is NOT the AR550 steel that we use on our A-DAP target systems.

Answer: Everything has a lifespan. When used properly, the Genesis gong target plates will last many thousands of rounds and many, many years. You can expect some edge chips if the edges are struck with high velocity rifles. Additionally, if you are a very high volume shooter you may eventually experience the expected lifespan of these target plates. Replace the target plate if pits, chips or cracks occur. If pitting occurs, increase distance or change ammunition, or both. Using any of our approved hanging methods ensures the longest life possible from your gong target plates.

Answer: Genesis gong target plates feature a 90-day manufacturers warranty against manufacturing defects. Additionally, we offer extended lifetime limited warranties on certain products.
